Who is Cosmo?
Cosmo is an alien of a plant nature: a sensitive humanoid plant, with the appearance of a flower (fans call her species "Seedrians", an unofficial name). Gentle, shy, and benevolent, she serves as a true moral compass for Sonic's team. Please note: Cosmo is a character exclusive to the Sonic X anime — she does not appear in any Sonic video game.

Formerly named Lucas, he was part of the same plant people; refusing to flee his war-torn planet, he equipped himself with a cybernetic body. His relationship with his daughter is icy — he treats her as a subordinate rather than a child.
Cosmo's sacrifice
In the penultimate episode, "A Fearless Friend", Cosmo makes the ultimate choice: she roots herself on Dark Oak to immobilize him, then asks for the Sonic Power Cannon — charged by Super Sonic and Super Shadow — to be fired, knowing that it will kill her as well. Heartbroken, it is Tails himself who must pull the trigger. A scene etched in the memory of fans.
