Each act has its boss: the Shiversaw, a flying robot with saw blades, then the Heavy Shinobi, whose katana freezes the ground. Tee Lopes wrote "Tabloid Jargon".

Press Garden Zone is a brand-new zone in Sonic Mania (2017), the 5th in the main mode (after Flying Battery, before Stardust Speedway). An ancient Japanese castle re-industrialized by Eggman, in two very different acts.
From Printing House to Frozen Garden
Act 1 plunges into a printing factory: ink pots, typographic blocks forming platforms, presses, red and pink palette. Act 2 shifts to a frozen Japanese garden: ice, snow, cherry blossoms — where Sonic can find himself frozen in a block of ice.
Two Bosses, Including a Ninja
Each act has its boss — and Eggman never fights in person here. In Act 1, the Shiversaw, a flying robot with saw blades, guardian of the factory. In Act 2, the highlight: the Heavy Shinobi, a Hard-Boiled Heavy ninja whose katana freezes the ground (8 hits).
Tee Lopes' Signature
Like all of Sonic Mania, the music is composed by Tee Lopes. The Act 1 theme, "Tabloid Jargon," perfectly matches the industrial and frantic atmosphere of the printing house.
Its Reappearances
Press Garden returns in Sonic Mania Plus (Encore mode). Fun fact: the badnik Splats (a rabbit that sprays ink) was designed for the very first Sonic in 1991, but was cut — it finally makes its debut here.
