The Sol Dimension: Blaze's World and the Sol Emeralds

What if, somewhere next to Sonic's world, there existed a parallel dimension with its own emeralds and its own guardian? This is the whole concept of the Sol Dimension, the kingdom of Blaze the Cat. A small inter-dimensional journey.

💎 To fully understand what follows, a reminder of the stones in the Sonic universe: the Chaos Emeralds.

What is the Sol Dimension?

The Sol Dimension is a parallel dimension to Sonic's — an alternate universe, distinct but linked. It has its own legendary emeralds, the Sol Emeralds, and its own protector.

Blaze, princess and guardian

The sovereign of this dimension is Blaze the Cat: she is its princess and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. A role that weighs heavily on her shoulders and shapes her reserved and determined character.

👑 Guarding the Sol Emeralds is a duty Blaze can never set down; an outfit from our Sonic costumes only has to hold for one evening at your place, then it comes off.

The Sol Emeralds and Burning Blaze

There are seven Sol Emeralds: they are the inter-dimensional counterpart of the Chaos Emeralds, entrusted to Blaze's care. When united, they allow the princess to access her super form, the flamboyant Burning Blaze.

An encounter in Sonic Rush

The Sol Dimension, the Sol Emeralds, and Blaze first appeared in Sonic Rush (2005, Nintendo DS). The plot begins when the theft of the Sol Emeralds propels Blaze into Sonic's world, causing an unstable fusion of the two dimensions — threatening to collapse if nothing is done.

🎮 This game and its sequel are featured in our complete list of Sonic games.

🎮 In 2005, the unstable fusion of the two dimensions in Sonic Rush fitted inside a Nintendo DS slipped into a pocket; our Sonic accessories ride in that same jeans pocket of yours today.

Marine and Eggman Nega

Blaze's universe expands with Marine the Raccoon, a spirited young raccoon who appeared in Sonic Rush Adventure (2007). On the villainous side, the Sol Dimension is associated with Eggman Nega, a counterpart to Dr. Eggman — although his exact nature varies depending on the games, making him a deliberately mysterious character.

🔮 Blaze is also closely linked to another traveler: (re)read Silver the Hedgehog.
