Unconventional Beginnings
The two robots did not appear at the same time. Orbot debuted in Sonic Unleashed (2008), originally under the designation "SA-55" (different design and voice), before being renamed Orbot. Cubot, on the other hand, only made his entrance in Sonic Colors (2010) — this is where the duo took its definitive form.
Not to be Confused With
Please note: Orbot and Cubot are not Decoe and Bocoe, Eggman's robot henchmen in the Sonic X anime. These are two different duos from different continuities — even if they fulfill the same role as comedic foils.
