Who is Dr. Starline?

Dr. Starline is a gray anthropomorphic platypus, a genius scientist and master manipulator. He is a character exclusive to IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics, created by Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley; he first appeared in late 2018.

Eggman's Admirer

Starline is an absolute fan of Dr. Eggman. He finds his idol when he is amnesiac (under the identity of "Mr. Tinker") and restores his memory and mad scientist personality. He then becomes his assistant… but his ambition will quickly push him to want to surpass his master.

The Metal Virus and the Betrayal of the Deadly Six

Starline plays a central role in one of the darkest arcs of the comics: the Metal Virus, which transforms inhabitants into robots ("Zombots"). He also attempts an alliance with the Deadly Six (the Zeti) and Zavok… but they betray him. He also relies on a key artifact, the Warp Topaz.

His most formidable creation: Surge and Kit. Starline captures two beings and profoundly transforms them into "imposters," evil counterparts of Sonic and Tails. A project that will partly escape his control.
